What it is
Sumitomo eccentric bearings are specialized roller bearings made in Japan whose rotational axis is intentionally offset from the geometric center. This off-center motion drives the cycloidal disc inside a Sumitomo Cyclo Drive, converting high-speed input into powerful low-speed output torque. Two bearings are mounted 180 degrees apart on the eccentric sleeve so load spreads evenly across all power-transmitting parts, helping the drive absorb shock loads, carry heavier continuous loads, and last longer.
